Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester Description

The Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester can be used to test mid-volumes of portable appliances in accordance with the IET 5^th Edition Code of Practice. To this end it includes an eclectic variety of electrical and safety tests, such as:

• Low current earth continuity
• Insulation resistance
• IEC lead
• Protective conductor current
• Touch current
• Load power/ current
• Alternative leakage current
• RCD
• Power socket

These tests may be arranged into up to twenty-five user-customised electrical and visual inspection sequences. The results of which can be saved to its extensive onboard memory (capacity for 2000 test results). Further to this, the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester can be used with an OPTIONAL accessory to perform point-to-point fixed appliances tests for earth continuity and insulation resistance.

Accessing and imputing data is made simple and quick as a result of the Apollo 400+’s QWERTY keyboard and colour, high-definition display, features it shares with its predecessor, the Apollo 400. What’s New?

Hardware Update

The design of the Apollo 400+ is largely based on that on its predecessor, resulting in the aforementioned inclusion of a QWERTY keyboard and colour, high-definition display.

However, the design of this instrument has been updated to improve its practicality and extend its scope-for-use.  To this end, it includes an interchangeable, rechargeable battery optimised to limit the instrument’s downtime.

Moreover, the inclusion of a wiring harness, test leads with strong PVC insulation and resilient test probes makes this instrument better suited to demanding applications, thereby improving its versatility.

Firmware Updates

Similarly, the improvements made to this instrument’s firmware also add to the practicality, adaptability and versatility of the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester.

Updates include:

• New user permissions for Bluetooth
• A delete function for unwanted results
• The ‘View Data Menu’ has been re-designed to include an advanced search function allowing the user to filter results according to specifications such as the PASS/ FAIL status of each test
• An option to print test results automatically has been included in the ‘After Test ‘ function
• Options for the ‘Worst’ and ‘Last’ results have been added to the leakage test setup
• Predictive drop-down menus can be tailored to the user’s requirements via the deletion of unnecessary options
