Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester Description

The Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester is designed for testing mid-volumes of workplace appliances in accordance with the IET 5^th Edition Code of Practice.

As such it includes a sizable memory capable of storing up to 2000 measurements and up to twenty-five electrical and visual user-customised test sequences. This instrument also includes an extensive selection of tests:

• IEC lead test
• Protective conductor current test
• Touch current test
• Load power/ current test
• Alternative leakage current test
• RCD test
• Power socket test

Furthermore, this tester can be used with an OPTIONAL accessory to perform point-to-point earth continuity and insulation resistance tests.

The Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester is an upgraded version of the Apollo 400 and as such includes a number of features and functions not found on its predecessor, please see below for more information regarding these updates.

What’s New?

Hardware Update

The Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester includes a QWERTY keyboard and high-definition, colour display, like its predecessor the Apollo 400. However; it also includes a number of physical updates made to improve its practicality, adaptability and versatility.

For instance, the Seaward Apollo 400+ includes an interchangeable, rechargeable battery which works to reduce the downtime of this tester.

This instrument is also supplied with a wiring harness and test leads with strong PVC insulation and resilient test probes, making the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester better suited to demanding applications.

Software Compatibility

The Apollo 400+’s hardware updates expand its scope-for-use, making it suitable for more challenging applications. Updates made to its software compatibility work towards the same end.

The Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester is compatible with scanners and printers allowing the user to send results directly to print. Alternatively, information can be downloaded to the user’s PC or can be sent to a compatible smartphone or tablet via the Apollo 400+’s Bluetooth connectivity.

Once transferred to a PC, data acquired by the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester can be organised into reports and/or invoices using the Seaward PATGuard 3.4 Software with Time Manager (NOT included). Additionally, the Time Manager feature on this program can be used to organise teams of workers.

Firmware Update

Like the software compatibility updates, the improvements made to the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester’s firmware also expand this instrument’s versatility and scope-for-use.

Updates made to the Apollo 400+ PAT Tester’s firmware include:

• New user permissions for Bluetooth
• Downloaded files may be named using unique identifiers
• The asset’s ID is displayed on each test screen
• Unnecessary options can be deleted from drop-down menus, allowing the user to tailor these menus to his/her requirements
• Advanced search function
• Improved data view – data can be sorted in accordance with a variety of specifications including the PASS/ FAIL status of each test
• The user can check test details before adding any final comments using the Review Step
• Delete option for unwanted results
• Mains voltage and outlet wiring polarity can be measured using the socket outlet test
• ‘Worst’ and ‘Last’ options have been added to the leakage test setup
• ‘After Test’ function has been expanded to include an option for printing test results automatically
• USB on-the-go technology allows the user to download information onto an Android device
