Seaward Apollo 500+ PAT Tester Description

The Seaward Apollo 500+ PAT Tester is optimised for checking high-volumes of portable appliances in accordance with the IET 5^th Edition Code of Practice. To this end, it includes the following testing capabilities:

• Low current earth continuity test with Zap circuit
• Insulation resistance test
• IEC lead test
• Protective conductor current test
• Touch current test
• Load power/current test
• Alternative leakage current test
• RCD test
• Power socket test
• Point-to-point fixed appliance tests for earth continuity
• Point-to-point fixed appliance tests for insulation resistance
• Class 2 FE (5th edition update) 

In addition to its testing capabilities, the Seaward Apollo 500+ PAT Tester also includes an integrated risk assessment tool with a retest calculator. This tool can be used to determine a suggested retest period for each appliance under investigation.

Results of the above tests can be saved to the Seaward Apollo 500+ PAT Tester’s extensive internal memory (capacity for 10 000 readings). Moreover, up to 100 user-customised electrical test and visual inspection sequences can be saved to the tester’s memory.

Like its predecessor, the Apollo 500, this instrument features a high-definition, colour display and QWERTY keyboard allowing the user to enter information and navigate the interface quickly and easily. However, this instrument also includes a number of updates to its hardware, firmware and software compatibility that expand the Apollo 500+’s scope-for-use.

Hardware Features

The Seaward Apollo 500+ PAT Tester retains a number of practical, physical features found on the Apollo 500 (as mentioned above); however, its hardware design has been updated to include additional practical features.

The Seaward Apollo 500+ PAT Tester includes an interchangeable, rechargeable battery pack. This power supply helps to reduce the Apollo 500+’s downtime, especially as this instrument can also be powered using a mains supply.

In addition to this, the Seaward Apollo 500+ PAT Tester is supplied with test leads featuring strong PVC insulation and sturdy test probes. These resilient accessories make the Seaward Apollo 500+ PAT Tester suitable for more demanding applications.

Software Compatibility

Also adding to this instrument’s practicality is its compatibility with Seaward’s PATGuard 3.4 Software with Time Manager (NOT included). This program allows the user to organise test results, create professional reports and invoices, as well as manage teams of electricians.

Furthermore, the Apollo 500+’s Bluetooth connectivity also improves the efficiency and convenience of this product. When connected to a compatible smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth the user is able to transfer data to the smart instrument wirelessly. In addition to this, the Seaward Apollo 500+ PAT Tester can be connected to Seaward’s Bluetooth 2D Elite Barcode Scanner (NOT included) and Test ‘n’ Tag Elite 2 Printer (NOT included) via Bluetooth.
